      Entretien

After Vikos contacted me to schedule an interview, they asked whether I preferred to have it online or face-to-face. I chose to attend in person at their headquarters in Ioannina. When I arrived, the HR Manager greeted me and began the interview with a very open-ended prompt: “Tell us.” He didn’t ask structured questions, and it seemed like he was expecting me to simply talk about my background and experiences. I felt that he had not reviewed my CV beforehand, as there was little reference to my actual profile. Because of this, I often had to fill in the long silences with details about myself. The only substantial questions he asked me were: What I know about the company What I believe my role in HR would be At one point, he asked me if I had interviewed elsewhere for similar positions. I answered honestly that I had. Instead of acknowledging that neutrally, he made an ironic remark, rhetorically asking me whether I had gone “all the way to Corfu” for my other interview. I found this comment unprofessional. If the company did not truly prefer face-to-face interviews and would have rather conducted it online, I don’t understand why I was given the choice in the first place. Later in the discussion, he shifted to very personal questions unrelated to the role, such as whether I have siblings and what they do, and even what my parents’ professions are. I explained that I did not feel comfortable answering those questions, since they are not relevant to my skills or the position I was interviewing for. His justification was that he asks these questions to see whether candidates have family connections to rival companies. While I understand the concern about conflicts of interest, I believe there are far more professional and appropriate ways to address this than asking “What job do your parents do?” Overall, the experience left me with mixed impressions. On one hand, I appreciated the opportunity to interview with a company like Vikos. On the other hand, the interview process itself felt unstructured, at times ironic or dismissive, and included questions that I found unnecessarily personal and irrelevant to the position.

      Questions d'entretien [1]

      Question 1

What do you know about the company? How many employees do you think we have? What does your role in HR include? Have you had interviews with other companies regarding a similar role? Do you have any siblings? If yes, what do they do? What job do your parents do?
