      Entretien pour IT Systems Engineer

      Candidature

J'ai postulé via un recruteur. Le processus a pris 1 semaine. J'ai passé un entretien chez Victory Healthcare (The Woodlands, TX)

      Entretien

I was submitted by a recruiter and set up for a Skype interview about a week later. The Skype interview had to be postponed by them as there were issues on their side. The Skype interview went well besides the fact that there were connection issues and the interviewer asked me to terminate the call and start over. I was asked to some up my experience and skill set. I was then told about the company and the sites and what the position would entail. Following that part of the interview, I was asked a handful of technical questions involving server technologies and differences in SAN's, FSMO roles, and to compare VMWare Vs. Hyper-V, but not asked about my actual experience with either. I asked a few questions at the end, but the interviewer seemed to have trouble hearing me. When he could hear me, he seemed to have trouble understanding and was vague in answering my questions. A few days after the interview I was contacted by my recruiter who told me that they said the interview went well but they are going to pass on speaking to me again because they are looking for someone with more Exchange and VMWare experience. I was not once asked about my Exchange or VMWare experience. Not at all. Yet my recruiter was told they wanted someone with more experience with Exchange and VMWare. I really did not understand this because I have extensive experience with Exchange as I have been the Exchange Admin at my last 3 jobs over the last 7 years, and I have been working with VMWare environments and ESX for more than a decade now; which is all clearly laid out in my resume. I wish I could give potential candidates some advice but what happened to me seemed real shady, and I honestly just feel blindsided; like they lied to my recruiter just because they liked someone else better. The dishonesty and reasoning that I was given from my recruiter make absolutely no sense at all. If you don't like someone you interview or don't think they will fit in, then just be honest. Don't lie and about experience you never asked about during the interview. This is simply unprofessional.

      Questions d'entretien [1]

      Question 1

      1. I was asked to explain what FSMO Roles do within the scope of Active Directory. 2. I was asked to explain the differences between Fibre Channel SAN's and iSCSI SAN's.
