Entretien
I went into the store to apply during a job fair weekend they had posted information about on their social media sites, and about three days after my in-store interview/paper application I got a call back with a part-time job offer.

It took 2 weeks after I applied online and I had still not heard back whether I was accepted for an interview or not. I then decided to phone and ask. I was lucky to have someone in recruitment pick up. She gave me a short interview on the phone then and there. I was then invited to the group interview. We sat in 2 separate groups and were asked to build a bridge made of sticks which encouraged us to communicate and get to know each other. I love this as an ice breaker as it gave us reason to talk to one another and feel relaxed. We then had to do a role play where we would pretend we are a current associate and attempt to sell a bra and pantie set with a body spray. Lastly, we were each asked different questions individually but still within a group. It was interesting seeing how people interpreted and responded to their question.

Let me start off by saying, this was a group interview. I was not informed of this and it blindsided me. I am glad I did not get the job though... Sales work...meaning you have quotas that you cannot meet and thus are fired. I interviewed here and the recruiter was rude. She was smart enough not to say anything, but her actions spoke volumes. It was clear from the beginning who she would hire. The interviewer snubbed a 40 something woman and myself from the get go as she immediately asked a new question once her thin blonde interviewee and her obvious chosen one had answered. It felt like an immense waste of my time. But I was willing to let it go up until I caught her shooting me the up and down glance that thin women give to women of size. Even in letting me know I did not get the job, they were rude and tacky. They sent me an email at three in the morning the day after I was supposed to hear back. That was the final straw. I will not be working there, obviously, but my business and the business of all my friends will be going to Torrid and other friendly establishments.
