      Entretien

Met the recruiting lady couple time in school career events, and she delivered my resume. Next, they offered me an on-site visit which consisted of 4-5 one-on-one interviews. After about a month, they invited me back to the company for a second round interview. I met another 4-5 employers and took a intelligence and personality test.

      Entretien

I got a request for a screening call shortly after applying. During the call she asked what my current salary was along with bonuses, which caught me off guard because I've never been asked that before as it's an odd thing to ask and illegal in some states, but I answered truthfully. Later in the call I asked what the offered salary range was and was told she can't tell me as it has to be determined by the hiring manager. That seemed like a bit of a red flag but the phone call otherwise went really well. She called me back a few hours later to tell me the hiring manager wanted to set up a video interview and sent me all the company details and benefits. I did the video interview with the hiring manager, it went really well. It was set for 45 minutes but went closer to an hour, which was a good sign. The hiring manager was really nice, explained the position in detail and answered all my questions. HR called me the following day saying the hiring manager really liked the interview and wanted to bring me in for an on-site interview. The on-site interview was four hours with four different people: the hiring manager, the department manager, the engineering manager and the supply chain manager. They all went really well I think, flowed smoothly, the one with the engineering manager was a bit tough though, he dug in and asked me a lot of tough questions about my current company that I didn't know and shouldn't be really expected to know (questions about company sales, market share, etc., I was an engineer at that company and didn't deal with that stuff), he was okay about it but I could tell he was a little put off. He also seemed a bit snooty at the fact that my current company didn't have a corporate structure like Victaulic (throughout all of the interviews they kept harping on their corporate culture). For all the others, I thought I knocked them out the park, I couldn't imagine them going any better. After the interviews, they told me they would have a decision by the following week and would let me know. I also brought up compensation again and they still refused to tell me anything. Two weeks went by and I heard nothing, so I followed up with HR for an update and never got a response, no rejection letter or anything. This was a couple months ago. It's okay if they found a more qualified candidate, but they had me doing 6 hours worth of interviews and taking time off of work for both the video and the on-site interviews; I put in a lot of time and work for this and find it highly unprofessional that they just go off and completely ignore a candidate after all is said and done, a complete waste of time and energy. I constantly see their postings all over job sites and will never waste my time applying there again, with behavior like this I think I dodged a bullet. So the takeaway: they're one of those highly corporate companies that throw you through the ringer and will accommodate you until they decide they don't want you and then completely ignore you.

      Question 1

A lot of standard questions about my skills and experience, more about tools and systems I used, nothing technical.
