Had a very negative recruiting experience overall and it was mostly due to the recruiter’s poor communication skills and lack of organization.
Scheduling interviews was a pain because my availability was often ignored and I would be asked to accommodate dates and times that worked better for my interviewers. Then, even after agreeing to accommodate these requests, the recruiter would take days to confirm the new interview dates and times.
For the second round interview, I had to follow up with him multiple times because he would not confirm the date and I had not received a calendar invite yet. When he finally responded to me, he came back with a completely different day and time and the interview went from a 1:1 to a 3-person panel interview. I agreed to move my schedule around again because this was the only day and time the panel was available.
On the day of the interview though, my interviewers told me they weren’t even aware that they were going to be participating in a panel interview. So they were caught off guard and unprepared and it just seemed like even communication between the internal team and the recruiter was lacking.
I also felt like there was a bit of a bait and switch because I was told from the initial screening phone call that this position needed to be filled quickly and the process would be 2-3 rounds at most. After about a month of back and forth emails and 3 rounds of interviews, I was asked to participate in an additional 2 rounds.
I participated in round 4 and was invited back for round 5, which would be in person. However, after so many red flags (poor communication, last minute changes to interviews, extra rounds added at the last minute, not respecting my time, etc.), I decided to decline the invitation and pull my application.
I outlined all of the above as reasons why I was pulling my application and the recruiter couldn’t even be bothered to apologize or take accountability for his part in all of this mess. So that really just confirmed to me that I made the right choice.

Interview process was clear and concise. It was great getting to talk to different teams and learn about the company culture. I went through 4 interview rounds. I ultimately did not get the job because it wasn't the right fit but I am 100% open to working for the company in the future .
