Their first response was via text message. Next, I completed a screening call with someone in HR. She had me complete two free online personality tests that I was to screenshot and email them the results. Then was told to come in to interview with the hiring manager. They didn't seem very connected during the hour-long interview, and asked a lot of questions that strayed from the job description. I didn't feel confident I'd make it to the next round. Sure enough, I didn't hear back from them ever again — despite following up one and two two weeks later. It's very disheartening in this job market to be brought in for a live interview and never hear from them again. It was a big deal to me to be interviewing for the job. I think it's only right to send a courtesy email rejection, particularly if you've had a formal interview. I guess they feel differently.
