J'ai passé un entretien chez Vertex Pharmaceuticals
Entretien
I had an initial phone screen with a Vertex recruiter and the hiring manager. I then had a take-home challenge I had to complete in a couple of days and make a presentation on before the in-person interview. The on-site involved some technical questions and my presentation.
While the interview was okay, the Vertex corporate recruiter was awful. She flipped out at me for interviewing at other companies after I had interviewed at Vertex (before I had a verbal offer from Vertex), hid or misled me about aspects of the compensation package, and shamed me for caring about what was in the compensation package. She made it an awful experience and raised enough red flags for me that I wasn't able to accept the offer.

Entretien
A phone call with the recruiter that was fairly straightforward and a zoom call with the hiring manager. I did not get more interviews. They decided to go with an internal candidate.

A few weeks of different interviews (take home quiz, technical phone screen, on-site). You meet with different DS team members. The technical questions are not easy and the quiz is timed (but you can do it at home).

Interviewed for data scientist in a company wide data science team. A couple of standard phone screens. Then, a take-home science project they lifted from a public data science competition. This assignment was very intensive, they give you a week, and and it takes 20+ hours to complete. Recommend taking time off work to work on this full time for a few days. Then, they bring you in for an interview where the team asks you questions (some intelligent, some not so much).
On the hiring team, there were a few data scientists who were pleasant enough. Then there are a couple of executive members of the team, who ask you basic behavioral questions and don't seem very invested in the process. The hiring manager is quite rude and unprofessional.

Question 1
Some technical questions that test your basic statistics abilities. A lot of questions describing your past experiences. I feel like most of the decision is made during the presentation.
