I interviewed with a manager who'd be the direct report for the role. If the Bloomberg article is any indication, bro culture seems to still be prevalent at Verkada given the loud & commandeering phone presence of this individual. I asked about the culture internally and was given a short, irate answer that the culture has shifted from what the article depicted. Then in the middle of me answering another question, I'm pretty sure s/he hung up on me. When I called back, it was obvious s/he was over the interview as every answer was a one sentence retort. In a last minute effort to pull teeth by asking a follow up question to what Verkada plans to develop in the future, "None that I can disclose." was the response in a tone of sheer negativity and veiled anger. Why so unprofessional? This isn't someone I'd want to report to by any means, so glad it didn't work out, but s/he did not effectively disprove the absence of bro culture there.
