      Entretien

After applying, a recruiter reached out to me and passed my resume on to Verista. Shortly after, I had a Zoom meeting with 2 seasoned employees at Verista. I was really happy to be speaking with my actual peers / supervisors so quickly, instead of a hiring manager or someone.

It was quick and simple. Only interviewed twice via Zoom. Both interviews were only 30 minutes. I didn't know the final interview was the final round until the end of the interview.

      Entretien

I cannot begin to express my disappointment with this company. I interviewed with this company back in January. At the time they called me to interview for the position, I had three written offers on hand. I asked them if they could expedite the interview process because I had to make a decision on these other three offers. They said they couldn't move the acceptance that quickly but they could at least schedule the interviews and have the verbal offer ready and get the written offer to me within a week if I qualified. I turned down the three written offers and removed myself from the interview process of 2 other jobs after getting the verbal offer because I was so excited for this offer. WELL, they gave me the verbal offer on January 30th after scheduling my final interview. First one was with HR, second with a Manager, and third with a Director. During the third interview, they FINALLY brought up SALARY. I was a little suspicious because normally salary is brought up in the first interview and I thought it was odd that I had an HOUR long conversation with HR and no mention of salary. Then the second interview happened and still no mention of salary. Finally the third interview happened, and the director asked me what salary I'm looking for and he said that he couldn't afford me jokingly. Then I said I'm open to negotiation and flexible because I didn't want to be turned away just yet. While my other roles were paying more, this role was supposed to be remote with minimal international travel working with CMOs. I was really excited about this role and it's the main reason I applied. HR sent me a text later that day and said they can do an amount 15K less than my other offers but I was still eager because of the big international opportunity for this role. So I agreed and they (HR and DIRECTOR) said they would get it to me NEXT DAY. This I thought was too good to be true anyways, and the next day rolled around they did not have it to me of course. So I waited until Monday (the next week) didn't hear anything....I reached out and the HR lady said they would get it to me end of the week. This is the second week now. So Friday rolls around from the second week, and I still didn't hear anything. She said something about the director getting surgery so now he would be out for another week. I got suspicious but I believed it because the HR lady seemed genuine. So the third week passes by because the director is having surgery. We get to the fourth week after my verbal offer and the HR lady comes back and tells me the project I applied for is no longer happening anytime soon and if it does - they are looking for 2 people who are going to make less than $100k and someone who is a professional in package engineering. SO they basically dragged me along for four weeks just to tell me I couldn't even get this job. Then they said as an alternative if I relocated to Indiana or North Carolina I could get a position with this company supporting clients there. I said SURE (fully knowing they are bluffing me). I told them I'd be happy to move to NC and the HR lady said they would be getting me an offer the next week (fifth week from verbal offer). WELL, it has now been 6 weeks since she mentioned that and 9 weeks since I got my verbal offer. I obviously had to get back on the job market and start interviewing after the whole relocating stunt was proposed to me. ANYWAYS, if you can - please RUN from this company. They are completely UNPROFESSIONAL. I was so nice and respectful and gave them so much time and was in constant email communication. They kept dragging me along just to keep me unemployed and not applying to other jobs. They really screwed me over and are really not a company you want to deal with. It's not worth it and you're better off applying to much larger companies. I randomly applied not knowing what to expect of this company just because I was so interested in this project. It's the worst experience I've ever had with a job and I wanted to warn people ahead of time. Let this be a lesson to anyone. If salary is not mentioned in the first interview or if you do not get the written offer within a 2 business days of your verbal offer, RUN.
