J'ai postulé en ligne. J'ai passé un entretien chez Verisign
Entretien
In person screening before HR screening.
In person was fine, until I was informed that they had an internal candidate already targeted as part of the screening interview.
Follow up HR screening focused on why I wanted to work at the company without any specifics on the job itself. Concern with the hiring manager that I was overqualified and would likely leave the job. At this point I didn't feel it was a worthwhile position for me given my experiences.
In the end, I felt this in person screening was a waste of time for what could have been done over the phone or during the HR screening.
Questions d'entretien [2]
Question 1
Describe a challenging situation and how you managed it?
J'ai postulé en ligne. Le processus a pris 6 semaines. J'ai passé un entretien chez Verisign (Washington, DC) en févr. 2022
Entretien
- I applied directly on the Verisign website
- I received an email from the recruiter with an attachment containing 6 questions for a written interview
- I sent my 3-page response to the screening questions
- Round 1: I met with 2 potential peers over WebEx for a 30 minute conversation which ended up going longer
- Round 2: I met with the hiring manager and another peer over WebEx for a 60 minute conversation
- The recruiter said that the Round 3 would be with one additional team member. However, it didn't pan out and the recruiter later texted me to say that I wouldn't be proceeding - but that the hiring manager would keep me in mind for future roles.
Observations:
- The team members said "Verisign does not provide much room for advancement and people here are stuck in old ways of doing things"
- One of the team members made an inappropriate comment about my appearance
- We encountered some scheduling conflicts and the recruiter offered a weekend interview instead. I did not pursue that option.

Recruiter sent a couple of questions via email, which needed to be answered before the initial phone screen. Phone screen took less than 10 minutes and consisted of the standard questions about why you are looking for a job, salary, etc.
