I got to the technical interview for a Senior Front end engineer role. When I gave the interview the proctor only had one question and it was a back end question. When I mentioned that one should never or rarely do this type of calculation on the front end I was told that it might be necessary. I know for a fact that is wrong. I asked to go on to the next question and the interviewer told me that there were no more questions so we could end the interview early if I wanted. I said yes. I would say that for technical interviews this indicates a “one size fits all” approach so anyone interviewing with this company should be aware of that.
