Thank you for taking the time to provide a review. We're so sorry that you felt like you time with us was wasted. We truly do appreciate your time and energy expended in reviewing your candidacy with us, and do apologize that it wasn't as smooth as we would have liked.
We strive to be transparent for our candidates during the interview process, and the email you mention is a new tool that we've started using in order to help towards this end. It's intended to keep candidates from feeling in the dark when another individual has started our on-boarding process, but haven't been hired on with us yet. Obviously, the error you mention could make things less clear for you as opposed to more. We're so sorry for the confusion that it created and that you had the misfortune of being part of a new effort that went awry! As this update step has now become more of a regular practice, we don't anticipate the same issue reoccurring for candidates in the future.
Your interview process with us was a bit unique in that the candidate we were initially pursuing ended up not working out with us, and based on the strengths you'd shown during your first in-person interview, we were interested in your participation in a second in-person interview. Each step in our interview process is intended to help us identify the individual(s) who would be the best fit for the organization and the onsite team, so oftentimes each step results in a smaller candidate pool. After your second interview we did elect to move forward with another individual based upon a careful comparison of the demands of the position with the abilities shown by each candidate.
Thank you again for your time spent with us throughout the process. Again, we do apologize for any missteps along the way. Please don't hesitate to reach out to us directly by phone or email if you have any additional concerns or suggestions for us regarding our interview process. There is always room for us to improve and we are all ears when it comes to making it happen!
