      1. Recruiter interview - very nice discussion covering my experience and background. At the end of the discussion it was mentioned that I would progress and actually be considered for a consulting role. It was stated that the PM job description is used to pull in candidates but the actual position would be something else. 2. Interview with a "peer". Went well. Progressed to next step. 3. Candidate exercise: creating a client kick-off meeting presentation which required a MS project plan with tasks, dependencies, resources, etc, communication plan, metrics and dashboards, change management plan, timelines, risk management plan, and a project status template. Other than a slide deck template and a brief description of the client project, zero information regarding scope, timelines, budget, or templates were provided. In the real world project planning is not performed in a vacuum. The client team is consulted and a plan developed accordingly. The project kick off meeting is the beginning of this process. Sadly, I spent time working on this activity which took significant time creating all the documents from scratch. I wish i had withdrawn my candidacy instead of spending time on this activity. A week later I received the email stating that I would not move forward. It should also be noted that people I am connected to were contacted. I have seen others comment that names were requested. It is very likely someone is reaching out to your LinkedIn contacts. I have no problem with this but I prefer transparency. I was "warned" about this company and their process, but I gave it a go to see for myself.

      Questions d'entretien [1]

      Question 1

The peer interviewer asked typical behavioral interview questions. The candidate exercise activity was a test to see if you can manage a client and their expectations. They also asked questions to test your overall product knowledge (like best practices for a particular system).

First two interviews were with an SVP and Director of Product and they were good, easy to talk to and not technical. After that they gave a week long take home project. I usually don't do interview projects just based on principle but I decided to do it this one time since I liked the people I had interviewed with and was genuinely interested in the role. They gave a week but I have a full time job and I'm interviewing with multiple companies so I gave myself an 8 hour limit on this project. The assignment was rather vague and suggested mockups to be included which of course I did. When it came time to present, they were incredibly nit picky on very small details of the mockup wanting to go deep into the data modeling on a granular level - I also didn't have enough information from them to be able to model the data and then when asking for more information, they ended the question and moved on. I was expecting much more high level questions about my process, the persona I built, more big picture since that was the project assigned. The level of detail they suddenly wanted was not something I could have prepared for given the vagueness of the brief and the time I had invested in the take home project. They clearly were not happy about this then got very quiet and I could tell they were messaging each other during the remainder of my presentation. At the end when I asked for additional questions or feedback, they said "No, thanks, bye" and ended the call. It was so weird and totally turned me off to the position. The next day I got a generic system generated email saying they rejected me. Read some other reviews from the last week of others who had similar experience. Definitely dodged a bullet and would not have been happy there.

Hiring manager is the first call instead of HR. 5 interview rounds including a case study which is requested in advance of presenting/scheduling the case study. There was very quick responses from the hiring manager however no feedback was allowed to be shared after any rounds or rejection.

Many rounds of interviews with a very time-consuming project in which I was required to design a product feature that was actually on their roadmap. The hiring manager's boss attended the case study and abruptly, with no notice, changed the structure of the interview on the fly and demanded a live data-modelling exercise instead of allowing me to present my prepared case study. Up until that point, the hiring manager had expressed concerns re: seniority but seemed to be open to hiring for potential. Unfortunately it appeared his manager did not agree and was cold, rude, and dismissive in the case study. Fortunately I think it says enough about the culture of the team I would have been joining to allow me to feel fortunate I didn't leave my current role.
