The interview was scheduled well in advance during the week. However, when the interview started, the interviewer appeared to be unaware of the position and location for which I was being considered. During our discussion, he realized that he was interviewing me for the Bangalore position rather than the Pune position. He then contacted the HR team to confirm the details before proceeding. Additionally, the interviewer received an unexpected phone call during the session, which disrupted the flow of the interview. As a result, there was a significant delay, and the actual technical discussion began only after approximately 30 minutes. The technical problem presented was to identify duplicate files within a directory. I discussed my approach and started implementing the solution. However, due to the time already lost at the beginning of the interview, we were unable to complete the coding exercise. Towards the end, the interviewer focused on discussing the overall approach, trade-offs, and possible optimizations. I explained my solution and suggested several optimizations to improve efficiency and scalability. After that discussion, the interviewer concluded the session and informed me that the interview process was complete. 30 mins is pretty less time to code the solution. Later no feed back from them. Just the standard reply they chose some one who is more align with them. Very unprofessional behaviour.

Applied through LinkedIn and received an online assessment. After completing it, a recruiter reached out to schedule two technical interviews. The first interview was engaging and involved a good technical discussion. The second was described as “System Fundamentals,” but focused more on problem-solving around parallelization and concurrency. It didn’t fully align with the system design or fundamentals expected for the role. Post interviews, there was no communication for about a week, after which I received an automated rejection email stating they were moving forward with another candidate.
