J'ai postulé en ligne. Le processus a pris 2 jours. J'ai passé un entretien chez Vector Solutions (Tampa, FL) en juin 2022

      Entretien

The interview process was straightforward and remarkably succinct. I applied and was contacted and invited to interview a mere hours later. I opted to have the interview the following day. The original posting for the position was at a Director-level and I made note that my invitation to interview identified the position at a Vice President-level. This was not problematic for me as I have years of Director-level experience and the next logical career progression step is that of a VP. The interview was via Teams and there were no surprises. The first interviewer was a Caucasian woman in her late 30s to early 40s and she was pleasant to speak with. The interview was more like a conversation and went well with typical questions regarding my resume, individual projects that I have overseen etc. Given our rapport and the fact that I fit the qualifications of the position, imagine my surprise when I received a rejection email the following week. I contacted the organization to inquire about the reasoning and they told me that my experience, at a Director level, at an organization over 22 times larger than Vector Solutions was not what they are looking for since it was gained in the Military! They maintained this fact despite the fact that I also directed civilian organizations and have other experience in corporations outside of the Military! This was problematic for a number of different reasons, but primarily because they saw my resume when I applied. Nothing about my experience changed from the time I applied to the time I was interviewed, so they wasted my time with their discrimination against experience being gained working for the Military. If this wasn't enough, do yourself a favor and look at the "Executive Team" on their website. It has the diversity of an episode of Friends or 90210 outside of one token Indian male. While the discrimination against experience gained working for the Military was a convenient cop out, I strongly suspect that the fact that none of the members of the Executive Team share my skin tone/complexion is a more realistic reason for the rejection. Be sure you resemble an extra for Dawson's Creek when you apply here.
