I was originally scheduled to do a phone interview for a position starting within the next 2 months, but due to the recruiter's lack of urgency, the entire interview/hiring process took 4 1/2 months. The recruiter emailed me only 2 hours before my scheduled phone interview to notify me that she had to reschedule. Because of this delay, I ended up getting hired for a position with a much later starting date. The phone interview was 30 minutes and consisted mostly of questions about my skills and experience with some basic investment questions (what is a stock? what is a bond?). The 2nd interview was more of an on-site meeting and was 3 hours total - 1 hour presentation on the company, 1 hour of STAR format Q's, and a 1 hour case study w/ a role play exercise. I had no prior knowledge or experience in investment services and this interview process was not difficult for me, but I did spend a lot of time preparing and researching. Despite the initial hiccup with the recruiter, every employee I interacted with was very friendly and made me feel comfortable.
