The recruiter was very responsive and the hiring manager was great in the first interview and it went over 15 minutes. Unfortunately, the next interview was with the strategic technical manager and it went downhill from there. First of all came late to the meeting, and then he did not even apologize. He had such an air of arrogance about him. Spent most of his time, looking at his computer and typing and it was apparent he was not taking notes for the interview …..he looked angry and as if he didn’t want to even be there or even conduct an interview. Honestly I’m my 20 years I’ve never had this kind of experience and I was taken back by his rudeness. I almost felt like in the middle of the meeting just saying this is not working out but I remained professional . Why would you put someone on a panel that lacks soft skills? It is so unfortunate because I was excited after meeting with the hiring manager. Unfortunately, this is not the type of company I would want to work if this is how someone on the hiring panel behaves. I reached out to the recruiter and he was very concerned and hopefully he will relate my experience to the hiring manager. You would just expect more from a company like upwork that works with freelancers.
