      Candidature

J'ai postulé en ligne. Le processus a pris 2 mois. J'ai passé un entretien chez Uptown Communications (Richmond Hill, ON) en janv. 2019

      Entretien

I applied for the position in mid December of 2018. I received an e-mail from the Marketing Coordinator prior to the Christmas Holidays requesting a phone screen. We arranged a date and time for the phone screen 2 two days after the initial e-mail was received. The phone screen went well. Prior to the new year, the coordinator reached out and invited me for an in person interview to meet with with the General Manager. The interview was scheduled a couple days after the new year. I went in and met with the coordinator only. I was told that the General Manager couldn't attend the in-person interview as she was presently on the phone. The interview consisted of very few "new" questions as majority of the questions were asked during the phone screen. The interview essentially was an information session of what the role entailed and the breakdown of the company. The coordinator who interviewed me was super nice and extremely friendly. Admittedly though, I was caught off guard about the CEO not attending the interview. Sure, things happen and I understand that some duties take precedent. However, I sat with the coordinator for over a hour... for me that was a little bit of a red flag. Nonetheless, I walked out of the interview feeling good. I sent a follow-up e-mail to the coordinator thanking her for inviting me. I received a response a couple days later advising that they were still in the interview process and she would let me know. It's been radio silence since. As it's presently Feb 4th, 2019 I'm assuming that they've went with another candidate. Since my interview, the job ad was re-posted twice (I'm presently job searching). I'm not at all bothered by it as time passed on, I figured they either hired someone else or they are still interviewing. What's peculiar about it is that the whole process took over a month?.. As I presently working in HR, I'm always a little leery when an interview process takes more than a month. I normally attribute that to indecisive management and of course, other variables come into play. Overall, the whole process was a little drawn out for the position they are trying to hiring for.
