A very impersonal zoom interview with little to no feedback, it was very disorienting and disarming to have three faceless zoom boxes asking written interview questions with no follow up.

This was a remote interview for an office job. I got a phone screen and then was rushed to the second round, which was about a two-three hour process with multiple segments/departments/groups. They also wanted a "pitch" of 10-15 minutes for a job paying >50k a year. This is a position that I was definitely qualified for and I'd say I even received what seemed to be "soft" indicators from the hiring manager that I'd receive an offer for. Then I got radio silence for two weeks and had to email the hiring manager twice to even learn that I hadn't been selected for an offer. This is poor behavior in my view and I won't be applying to UC in the near future bc I've had one other similar experience in recent history. The pay is always on the low end and the hiring process involves too many requests for free work/unpaid steps. It seems like they don't care b/c they're getting paid so they think you're just honored to interview with them(?) Times have changed. UC, please only ask for these things if you're extremely serious about the candidate.

Just general cookie-cutter material. You can guess.

A few weeks after I applied online, I was contacted by HR to set up a phone interview. It was a panel interview that was quite formal; not conversational at all, just question then answer, question then answer. The questions seemed harder than the job description made the job out to be.
About a week and a half after my phone interview, I was invited to campus for an interview face-to-face. The interview was with the same panel I originally interviewed with, plus several more people with whom the position would work directly. The questions were all very relevant to the job. A week after the interview I was offered the position. It will be almost two and a half months by the time I start the job from the time I applied.
