I submitted an application in store for a sales associate. It is a pretty standard application. Once your application is processed you get a call back. When I went in for the interview, I was told I would be interviewing with the regional manager. Weird I thought but ok. While going through the interview I stop the regional manager because the questions aren't sales associate question and ask what position I am interviewing for. He states the assistant manager.....I chuckled and said on ok I thought just applied to the sales associate. Won the interview got the job.
The interview process was professional, welcoming, and well organised. It usually began with an initial phone screening to discuss my availability, previous retail experience, and interest in the role. This was followed by an in-person interview with the Store Manager, where we spoke about customer service, teamwork, sales targets, and handling different retail situations.
The interview focused on communication skills, problem solving, and providing excellent customer experiences. I was also asked behavioural questions about working in a fast-paced environment and achieving sales goals. Overall, the process was friendly, straightforward, and gave me a clear understanding of the company culture and expectations of the role.
