      I reached out to this consulting engineering firm because a position looked like a good fit for my background. A manager contacted me the same day and encouraged me to apply. I prepared hard and went through the full interview process. The interview was pretty discouraging. The questions felt blunt and more like an interrogation than a real conversation. One of the interviewers rolled their eyes at me while I was talking, and another made a dismissive comment about my experience level. It was clear early on that they had already made up their minds. After the interview, the recruiter told me they would have an update for me by the middle or end of that week. I followed up politely when that time passed. As of now, I have heard absolutely nothing back. The whole process gave me false hope after they actively encouraged me to apply, only to leave me hanging with no basic courtesy. It wasted a lot of my time and energy. If this is how they treat candidates they personally invited to interview, it makes me wonder what the internal culture is really like.
