I was contacted almost immediately after applying to set-up a phone interview with the HR Recruiter. In our discussion is sounded like the position was a little bit different than what I had applied for, but she didn't mention it so I assumed it was just slight changes. She set me up to interview with a Senior Marketing Manager, and during that interview it became clear that I was actually interviewing to be a Local Marketing Manager, as opposed to the Senior Marketing Manager - Content and Brand position I had actually applied for. The Local Marketing Manager position is very Biz Dev/partner marketing focused - an not similar to the position I applied for - so I began to lose interest. I moved on to the next round and interviewed with a General Manager. Despite being a local candidate, the interviews were all over video conference - which I found a bit unprofessional. While it was interesting to gain insight into Uber's workings, the position they were interviewing me for was ultimately not one I wanted to pursue. I would suggest letting candidates know if they are interviewing for a different position than they applied for - instead of letting them figure it out during an interview. Overall, I was less than impressed with their interview process and it was clear that Uber wasn't the right fit for me.
