From the time I submitted the Resume, to the time I was informed a current employee had been offered the job was about 4 months or so.
The Actual interviews were 3 in number, 1 phone with a hiring manager ( a pre-filter to make sure I still wanted the job, and was hirable), 1 phone with prospective manager who was very pleasant, and sounded like someone I would like to work for, and 1 in- person, with 3 department managers.
I was unable to prepare for this new to me interview format. instead of asking the standard questions that you can find on the internet, they asked situational questions.. "have you ever had a co-worker you had problems with, and how did you handle it" More of a what have you done in this situation type of interview, all 3 managers had different questions, but still in the same vein. I had not come across this type of interview, and did not have concrete cut and dried answers for the interviewers. I tried my best, and the person who would be my manager said he liked my Resume, as it had all he needed to know, I was thinking I had a new job. However, the process to inform me that I HADN'T gotten the job took quite a while after the interview, I think because an internal employee applied for the job.
I have to admit, that I was disappointed in the outcome, but I am impressed with US Cellular, and also with the fact they reimburse for the mileage, which I didn't expect. I am still looking for when they hire a similar position in an area I would like to live.
