I applied for the liability adjuster position. After I had passed the online assessment I received an email notifying me of my scheduled phone interview. I spoke with a recruiter who asked a couple questions and also provided details about the position and pay. After the recruiter interview he provided semi useful feedback. I will admit that the recruiter phone interview nearly altered my perception of USAA simply due to the tone of the recruiter. However, I learned that USAA uses a third party. When the recruiter asked a STAR question regarding an irate customer I provided an example from my previous employer (another insurance company). After I provided my response his tone became accusatory. I was told that because I had not provided the name of the customer, it sounds as though I was making the situation up. As someone with previous insurance experience I didn’t reveal the policy holder’s name to protect their privacy. However, I still received an email to move forward for an in-person interview. The interview started on time, and the interviewer was polite. I was given a full description of the position and expectations I was also asked a total of four questions. The setting was pretty laid back, I felt comfortable.
