Deep background check for security and clearance. fingerprinting etc. Its okay if you have something on your record against you as long as you can ethically explain it and it doesnt effect you taking the role liability wise. There's the initial online application and then it must be filled out in print, then there are fingerprinting appointments and in person/over phone interview.... as long as you go through the steps though, it is worth it. They aren't cruel or doing it for fun, its ust how the gov. works in slow steps
