Officers now compete at the assignment team selection board for various positions such as, instructor, EWI, ALEET, LCBP, etc... Requirements are posted showing availability with desired qualifications and members then select a priority listing of their choosing and are afforded an opportunity to write clarifying remarks. Recommendations are made by senior leaders and if the hiring authority is interested, the members are contacted for a phone interview.

Online form, awaiting call back, uploaded resume, listed experience and accomplishments, answered multiple choice questions, job description was explicit and well-written, it was a good first filter of candidates interested in the job

Applied on line and eligibility was confirmed. Hiring manager narrowed list of eligibile applicants and selected someone but did not consider federal eligibility criteria for the position. Veterans status, disability status, professional education, college education were not factored into the process. Selections was made on persoanlity characteristics.
