I found a role that interested me, so I applied. After applying, about 2 weeks later, I received a rejection email. While this wasn’t a big deal, I received a weekly rejection email for almost a month. About 2 months after submitting my application, a recruiter called me wanting to interview for the job. I shared that I was confused because I received several rejection emails. She was equally perplexed but ended up scheduling an interview with the team. The group interview was bare, and I received an offer letter shortly afterward.
I want to provide additional information and details to those applying for corporate tech roles. The pay is very low, especially with the “benefits.” The benefits included decent health/dental plans. However, they barely offer a week of PTO, which is extremely rare from my experience.
Additionally, after starting my role, I found out that it was not as described. While the job posting and interview aligned with the same topics, none of it was the same when I onboarded onto my team. I truly felt that I was lied to, and I left a good employer for this role, which had better benefits and a better work environment. I cannot recommend IT or Information Security roles at UPS because they are managed horribly.
