Sorry you felt your experience was negative. I absolutely agree that some things could have been handed differently. We generally ask interviewers to avoid using laptops if possible, but some folks prefer to take notes and most interview quite frequently, so depending on memory becomes tough. I would hope they were strictly taking notes, we absolutely remind people not to do anything else in interviews.
As for the recruiter, I agree that you deserved a call or some sort of follow up - and I will certainly talk to him to understand what happened. As a company, we've decided to not share any detailed, granular feedback from interviews. Many companies take this stance and I understand that's a controversial topic. (and I've been on the other side of that over my career as well) Just to share the logic - when you share details, sometimes candidates can strongly disagree and it can turn contentious or start a further argument. As you can imagine, we prefer to avoid that since the decision was already made on our end. (And in 12+ yrs in recruiting, I've never seen a company change their mind because the candidate argued or disagreed with the decision)
I understand the desire for candidates to improve on their interviewing and such with feedback - but it's a decision we've made as an organization.
Otherwise, sincerely appreciate your time and effort in the process and wish you luck in your job hunt.
thanks,
Arthur Yamamoto
