Pros: + Transparent in terms of explaining the hiring process. Neutral: + They follow a modified Rooney Rule policy (50% of candidates must be "diverse" in the final rounds) and talk a lot about how diversity is important to them. However, fitting into their culture is an absolute must even if you hit every single job requirement and are in the Rooney Rule category. This means that they are still targeting a very particular subset of people. Cons: + The company is huge. This is not inherently bad, but I had to talk to three different recruiters to find mine for a status update because my original recruiter was laid off and the department did not establish a new point of contact (recruiter) for me in a timely manner before my screening call. + During our meeting, my new recruiter was not paying attention to what I was saying and did not want to open up my resume. I know that he was not listening because I had to repeat myself multiple times. Moreover, his attention literally was elsewhere because he physically got up and left the call for a moment to go do something. + With the new recruiter that I had, I did not feel like he had my best interest at heart. There was hardly any communication from his end (he would only reach out with generic emails). + Their hiring process is long with almost 10 total interviews (onsite included). This can be fine for some but I am having difficulty understanding how a company that champions having balanced teams would have such a rigorous process. Imagine a parent with young children at home during the interview time or someone who cannot get off work/school as easily going through this process. In addition, that many interviews can be tiring and studies show that this practice is not effective which in turn lessens the chances of truly diversifying your talent. The key takeaway is that if this hiring process is any indication of the company or the team that I was interviewing for, I am truly comfortable/pleased with not moving forward.

Honestly, this was the company that truly made me give up hope for finding a new job in 2020/2021. It was an intense process; over 2 months long, combined 10 hours of interview hours, spotless portfolio and website and linkedin needed, very detail-oriented questions in the process. HARD interviews. About a week after I had completed the full interview process, I called to ask if there were any updates on my application and I was informed that an internal candidate had just applied for the position. They then sat on my application while they started that candidate in the interview process from the very beginning. I had weekly calls with the recruiter who assured me I was a great candidate and it was a "formality" and they hadn't even scheduled the interviews with that team member yet. Well, 1 week turned into 3 long weeks of waiting, and finally, I had to reach out to the recruiter who told me they were going forward with the internal candidate. Overall, I just feel so overlooked and undervalued in the process. I invested so much time and energy to be overlooked entirely for a late internal applicant. Why hadn't internal candidates already been vetted by the time you posted it for external applications? Why then were we not treated as equal applicants? The whole process seemed under-thought, lengthy without merit, and overall exhausting in the current economic climate. I really hope no one else has as demeaning of an experience as I did.

I had 6 hours of interviews spread over three days, one hr long presentation, and 5 45-minute interviews. I sent a follow-up email 10 days after the final interviews asking about an update and never heard back. Being ghosted by a company after putting in a lot of time and effort is very disheartening.
