J'ai postulé via la recommandation d'un employé. Le processus a pris 3 semaines. J'ai passé un entretien chez Twilio (San Francisco, CA) en déc. 2019

The interview process was through a referral and I was connected very quickly with the hiring manager. There were 3 phone screens and then an in person on-site with the team and some crossfunctional teams. A huge element of the evaluation was the culture fit, so it was great I brushed up on the Twilio Values 'Magic' before hand.
We are so glad you had a good experience and decided to join us! We definitely value the Twilio Magic and I am glad that came across in your interviews. Welcome to the team!

The hiring manager was genuinely warm and welcoming throughout the entire process, which made for a really positive experience. The recruiter was equally impressive — communicative, organized, and great at keeping me informed every step of the way, which made the process feel seamless and stress-free.
The one area I'd suggest improving is the job description. While it gave a general overview of the role, it could have benefited from more specific details about day-to-day responsibilities, required skills, and team structure. A more descriptive posting would help candidates come better prepared and ensure a stronger match from the start.

5 steps:
- screen with recruiter
- call with hiring manager
- call with sales manager
- call with SE (technical)
- stand & deliver (presentation to a panel)
Good: All the people I met were fairly warm and welcoming. The recruiter coordinator was very good, she was available and pleasant to deal with. I could also have a call with the hiring manager before the panel to prep it, and she was available for feedback after I finished the process.
Bad: 5 steps is TOO effin LONG, I don't care what people say. I'm not going to be CEO, it's just an average job. This is not specific to Twilio per se, it's an annoying practice a lot of companies have. The amount of time and energy request to candidates is just disproportioned. The panel itself was fine, the product is technical, but they didn't want an overly technical presentation. Still, you need to put in hours to prepare.

For the technical call with a peer SE we discussed:
- monolithic vs decoupled architecture, some other topics related to infrastructure and cloud computing (eg. load balancers)
- http: methods, protocol, type of responses
- caching
