I got a call for SE position for SF considering it was perfectly aligned to my background, past experience and the company's products The hiring process lacked organization and was extremely unprofessional. Initial calls were screening and checking my technical and sale acumen. The hiring team took a lot of time to get back to me for the final round and seemed confused on what date to allot. Finally on getting a date, arranging travel to SF, going through prep interveiw for final round, the team suddenly calls me before few days of my interview saying they are cancelling the interview saying the filled the position or had some budgeting issues( for my travel I assume ? ) I found this extremely unprofessional and cruel considering I had already invested a lot of time and energy in prep and getting round my schedule.overall, a very negative experience. Unstable.

I totally agree with you - and I apologize for the team not being more transparent with you during the process. As we build Twilio, we are all moving at a fast pace, and we need to be reminded to slow down on the details. I thank you for letting us know about your experience, as we want to make sure we are better moving forward for all candidates.

They had a 6 stage interview process. In general some of the stages was good and interesting but I feel some of the stages were just a waste of time.

he last interview was reshceduledby the interviewer himself, but was not ready to confirm the new timings. I felt recruitment team did a good job of coordinating.

Hiring Manager
It was a good one. It looked like what she thoroughly knew what candidate should know about. She was not predetermined on particular types. she was trying to gauge how my experience can be leveraged to day to day activities in Twilio.
Solution Architect

It was not a good experience though. The interviewer asked me to reschedule the assigned data and never bothered to communicate to confirm the revised date. I had to be informal to catch him in wazapp. I felt like he was not interested or he already had some other guys in mind.
Interview started with. a tone which is entirely different from the Job description requirement. Given that the background of interviewer was from Application development and the company tag line says "company for doers" I found it surprising.
Most of the talks were revolved around "This is a technical account management" kind of role. There is no use of coding unless for 2-3 %
The person was not aware of my solution submitted during initial rounds. Felt sad that I wasted my time in appearing for interviews which they should not screened at first place.
