The call with the recruiter was great and I built some great repport there. But the hiring manager interview was just plain awkward. The guy I interviewed with seemed like he didn't even want to be there and was dry as a bone personality-wise. It was hard to really feel comfortable and engage. Needless to say I didn't make it past this stage. But another thing that was a bit of a red flag for me was that I was explicitly told that the position was early career, more on the entry-level side, and if I had made it past that round there would have been 4 interviews after that!!! For an early career position to me, that's a little ridiculous. I can see if this was a more experienced technical role but it was far from that. I have never had to do more than 3 rounds for this type of role for any other company. If you can't decide if a candidate is qualified after 3 rounds I question your overall abilities to make sounds judgements.
