J'ai postulé en ligne. Le processus a pris 2 jours. J'ai passé un entretien chez Trupanion en janv. 2022

      Entretien

I applied online and within the next day or so someone emailed me to set up a phone screen, which was very quick. The day of the phone screen, the recruiter called me 30 minutes earlier than I was scheduled. I had just finished work, but I was prepared. What if I wouldn't have answered the unrecognizable number with the expectation to be called at a scheduled time? Nonetheless, we spoke for quite some time even though the interview was for 30 minutes. It was an hour conversation. She explained everything the hiring manager was looking for when I asked her a few questions, which I personally felt was how I expressed myself during the phone screen. She told me about all of their benefits and the pay rate. She asked me what was my salary and I only disclosed that what she stated was within what I was looking for. There is a salary ban in which recruiters should not be questioning what you are looking for. For job seekers, they only offer benefits for their employees and not for spouses or dependents which she said is quite expensive for their employees with families. I even took the time to express my interest in a follow up thank you note. I was told that I would get a response within a few days. I would've expected a personalized response for corporate level management position, but I received a generic automated email that they weren't moving forward with my application. I was baffled to not pass a simple phone screen with this employer beyond the recruiter with my level of benefits experience. I wouldn't apply again. It would've been nice to know why the Director wasn't interested in my skillset as I was told my information would be passed along to her. I guess what I was looking for in my next position is not something they could offer and what I may have lacked skill wise they weren't willing to train.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience interviewing with Trupanion. Your experience definitely flagged a few instances that are not aligned with the quality we hold our recruiting team to. Most alarming was your mention of our recruiter specifically asking you what you are currently making, because that is an illegal question to ask in Washington. Our recruiters are trained to ask candidates if their compensation needs align with the range the role is paying, or to ask what general compensation range a candidate is looking for. I hope upon further review that your experience aligned with one of those two scenarios. I will be sharing your feedback with the team to reaffirm that we call candidates on scheduled time, only go over scheduled time if candidates have further questions, and never ask a candidate what their current pay is. If you have further feedback you would like to share, you can email me directly at Anna.Berentson@Trupanion.com.
