      Entretien pour Premier Banker

      Candidature

J'ai postulé via un recruteur. Le processus a pris 4 semaines. J'ai passé un entretien chez Truist (Orlando, FL) en sept. 2025

      Entretien

Had four interviews for the role, including the two screenings from recruiters. Did not get a job offer. In the third interview (first one with a manager, this manager asked me some pretty basic questions like "tell me about your experience to this point" and "what did you do at role xyz" etc. She also asked me how I would position lending to someone who doesn't have a specific need for it and what questions I would ask a customer as I'm meeting them. She expressed concern that despite the fact that I have eight years of advisory and financial services experience, I only have one year of banking experience since she said they have hired advisors in the past for this role and they fail because they completely ignore banking. I, of course, reassured her of my ability to learn and do what it takes to be successful. She recommended me for the next interview with her boss. This second manager asked me similar questions centering around concern that the majority of my experience isn't in banking. Neither manager seemed particularly concerned about sales process, relationship management, helping customers etc. Ironically, for all their concern over banking, they barely made any mention of how to position wealth management at all (which is at least another 25% of the job.) They really only seemed interested in pushing the "lending" aspect of the job. It didn't make the interview difficult, but their lack of concern over customer interactions and relationship building seemed odd and like we're on different wavelengths. In my interview with the second manager, I asked her what success looked like to her in the first year and she simply said "hit all your numbers and don't break the law." My main frustration in the process was simply how uncommunicative they were with me. The only contact info I had was for the recruiter and she only replied to two of four emails I sent her over a three week span. They offered no feedback on why I didn't get a job offer. I asked, but again she didn't reply. I assume it was due to their concern over my lack of lending experience.
