I started with a couple of video calls and then an offer to come to the office for a candidate session. There were 24 candidates in the final round to compete for a spot on a team of 5 trainees. They administered a written test, then a group debate session, and finally, one-on-one interviews. At the end of the three-hour candidate session, we were informed that we would get notified within the week whether or not we were selected because they wanted to start as soon as possible. Additionally, the directors said, "We will not ghost you". A week goes by, and nothing. Two weeks later, still nothing. Multiple follow-up emails, no reply. Now, it's been three weeks since the interview, and no updates, no offer, no rejection letter. It's incredibly unprofessional to leave your candidates hanging like this, especially since we took the time to come in person for this session that lasted for three hours only to be ghosted. This job market is already difficult and demoralizing for so many people, especially entry-level candidates; the least we ask for is not to be ghosted.
