The role I had applied for literally had the word "Medicare" in it. I spent several years working with the CMS. The individual I spoke with asked me to explain not once, but twice, "who CMS is". Mind you, I had actually typed out "Centers for Medicare/Medicaid" on my resume as well. This is like applying to H&R Block and the interviewer doesnt know who the IRS is. She seemed confused about why she had called me? It was generally odd. I tried to move her along as quickly as possible with some "mhmms" and end the call.
