Shortly after my final-round in-person interview at Triangle, I received a formal verbal offer (with salary expectation, 3 month trial period, etc.) and was told to expect a written offer via email in the next few days. They then ghosted me despite my numerous calls/texts/emails. After three weeks, one of the partners emailed me saying they "need a little more time on the hiring process" and that I should reach out at the end of the month-- even though I had already been extended an offer. They provided no explanation for the delay or update on my candidacy status. When the partner finally got back to me (8 weeks after the interview), he told me that I was actually the one who turned down their offer due to a disagreement about the terms of employment. It is difficult to imagine that this was a sincere miscommunication, as my many attempts to contact them as well as his own emails clearly indicate my interest.
