Algorithmic 90 min test followed by live coding test. They use some off the shelf testing system and a engineer that sits there and watches you try to code it up in 10 mins. The test was not very sensible. Directed at a very specific coding skill set, nothing to do with real life software development. You might well be able to tell how well engineers do at rapidly selecting and coding an sort of letters but nothing beyond that. Nothing on systems, latency, parallelism, safety, testing, style or any other important part of writing code from a freelance perspective. The people doing the interviews also don’t really know what they are doing. As both a developer and freelance employer I don’t trust this process at all.
