      Entretien

I saw an ad on Indeed.com and applied. The application was pretty simple. I recieved an interview invitation email for the following week. It was a group interview with about 5 other people who were very fashion forward. I started chatting them up and someone that I assume was a manager smiled at me. We were led into an awesome looking break room (I know it's an unusual thing to say and notice) that had fashion inspiration boards, inspirational quotes, and a huge flat screen TV with an Xbox One. Anyway, they handed us a written application to fill out. We tossed a ball around as an icebreaker (not as corny as it sounds). Then we were shortly separated into groups and had to style an imaginary ideal customer for Topshop and Topman. Luckily, I got Topshop since my background and experience is in women's apparel. My group had great feedback from the two hiring managers. I used fashion jargon and talked about the current trends in the store while describing my outfit. Afterwards, we had individual interviews with the hiring manager and I went first. The interview style was pretty chill and casual. Asked very basic questions. Nothing tricky. Afterwards I talked to the store manager and had to "sell" her an item. I chose a pair of black high waisted denim which I described as a staple piece and she seemed impressed. It took 3 weeks to get a call confirming that I got the job. Honestly, I thought that I didn't get it due to the other reviews stating a shorter response time. Hopefully this is helpful.

      * Very relaxed and casual interview process with questions that needed no real preparation, there is also a group icebreaker and task that is also set up to ease applicants into feeling more comfortable.

Upon arrival, I was taken to the back of the store to wait with the other interviewees (about 6 or 7 of us altogether). After that, we were all taken to a separate room, asked to introduce ourselves and say something about a fun activity that we'd done over summer. Then, we were asked to look at a small rack of clothes and in turns, we would go up to the rack and pick something and 'sell' it to a 'customer'. The final part of the interview just involved having a one-on-one chat with the manager, in which I was asked basic interview questions and asked for information such as availability, desired shift pattern, where I live etc.
