THIS IS NOT A MARKETING POSITION! This is a sales position. Bottom line, you try to sell Directv packages to customers at Sam's Club and BestBuy locations in MS and the Memphis area. They do a great job getting you in by falsely stating what the duties entail. There is no implementation of marketing plans, product positioning, and/or campaign strategies. Furthermore, there is no advertising, marketing, and/or sports marketing involved. The 1st interview was with the owner and it went by rather quickly. The questions asked were rather easy. He spoke quickly as if everything has been rehearsed 1000 times...my guess they're always hiring because it's hard to get people to stay. Then, they called me in for a 2nd interview where I had to meet with the owner to go over my resume, but he did not go in that day. Instead I met with a gentleman that introduced me to one of the salespeople. I was asked to drive to a Sam's Club so the salesman can demonstrate what it is they do. Basically, they approach every person they can get to and ask them if they're interested in signing up with Directv. I asked the salesman if they did any marketing, like what was mentioned in the job description...he seemed confused and told me that selling Directv packages is all they do. At this point I made sure he knew I was disinterested. So, if you are a recent marketing grad, I would not recommend this company.

We appreciate your feedback and sorry about any confusion in what we do! We actually ENCOURAGE marketing, public relations and communication graduates to apply to our company to get first hand experience in the sales and marketing field. Since we are a third party marketing and promotions company that works for Fortune 100 industries, we get to represent corporations that are recognized as the best in the nation. We represent multiple clients (not just one) and since they are national corporations, we are responsible for the implementation and expansion of the great marketing campaigns that our clients have created for us. They've done their research and we have provided feedback to them on what has worked best in this market. Unfortunately, it appears that many people who are new to the career of marketing and sales do not realize that they are one in the same. The very meaning of marketing is "the act of buying or selling in a market" (according to dictionary.com), so our clients know that whatever they invest in marketing campaigns results in sales revenue, which is the reason why we are so good at what we do! It's also the reason why we're constantly looking for new talent, because we've doubled in size the last 6 months. Those who are familiar with sales and marketing know that these two words are connected, so we do apologize for those who are new to this field who might not be clear in what marketing and sales is all about. We always make sure that people know before they even come in for an interview that we conduct in-store marketing and promotions. We do welcome college grads with marketing degrees and we have found those who are into "sports-minded marketing" (NOT to be confused with sports management) do very well because of our competitive, team-based work environment. Our team members learn the ins and outs of how a marketing company works and as our employees move up into leadership and management positions, we believe that those with marketing degrees will definitely learn everything they need to know about running a company like Top Quality Solutions. Again, we appreciate your feedback!
