      Candidature

J'ai postulé en ligne. Le processus a pris 3 semaines. J'ai passé un entretien chez Toast Inc (Houston, TX) en mars 2019

      Entretien

Initially contacted by phone from my emailed cover letter/application. Two initial conversations before being moved forward to the hiring manager interview - scheduled for a two hour block with four total interviews of 30 min each back to back. The hiring manager was second of four to interview and I had been prepared as to each person and their focus for the interview by my recruiter as well as briefed as to what was and what was not to be brought up with each person. The recruiter was actually great and more or less let me know I had each qualification knocked out of the park and was the leading candidate as far as experience and working knowledge beforehand so I was very prepared for what I was walking into. All four interviews were done via video call - not voice call so I made it a point to look my best while sitting through the four interviews. I had been told that I would hear back in a couple of days, as I had performed well I believe. I was fully qualified nearly to the letter. What I received 12 days letter was the standard "we have moved forward in the process and you are not being considered further" letter. I was pretty stunned, and knowing there were at least two other roles I was completely qualified to perform, I applied to the Sales role (it's been my career for many years) and received a rejection letter within 24 hours of the submission of my online application. It is notable that my age may have been a consideration as I am 48, albeit a young version of it however - having checked out their newly revamped website I am not 20 something which I genuinely feel was the deciding factor, especially with the second rejection almost being sent by light speed after I applied. Not a good after feeling from this group, unfortunately and wonder who else has had a similar experience with Toast?

Apologies for the poor communication and lack of follow up. While I’m uncertain about the specific circumstances surrounding your interview process, I’m disappointed to hear that the experience left you with an unsettling feeling. Please reach out to me directly on LinkedIn so that we can discuss and make it right. I would be happy to provide more specific feedback about your candidacy. - Mike Brown, VP Talent
