J'ai postulé via un recruteur. Le processus a pris 4 semaines. J'ai passé un entretien chez Thumbtack (San Francisco, CA) en sept. 2022

      Entretien

Was reached out to on LinkedIn by a Thumbtack recruiter for a Sr. CRO Manager position. Sent over my resume and had a brief phone screen with the recruiter shortly thereafter. Phone screen went well, so they passed me on to the hiring manager for a short interview. Hiring manager interview went well, so that gave way to gauntlet-style interview with members of their team, for series of short (~30 minute) technical and non-technical interviews. Interviews weren't especially challenging in and of themselves, but gave a feel for culture and the type of people you would work with at Thumbtack. Gauntlet interview round gave way to short interview with hiring manager's boss, all of which went well. Recruiter reached back out with a good verbal offer that included equity about a week later, then followed up about a week later with an offer for less than was initially discussed and a title that was scaled down from "Senior Manager." When I asked why the title was scaled down, the recruiter gave me a puzzling response about how "it's actually a good thing to start at a lower title and then get promoted" instead of hiring me at the job title we had been discussing the whole time. They then proceeded to call me entitled and asked why I bothered applying in the first place, seemingly forgetting that they had reached out to me first. Suffice to say, I politely declined the offer and wished them the best. Thumbtack has a good product and seems like a nice place to work, but this experience sure left a bad taste in my mouth. Never had an employer change that much about the scope of the job at the last minute, then question MY integrity. They lost a potential employee and may have lost a loyal customer.
