I applied for the position of "Application Scientist - Intern". After three weeks of radio static, I got a call from a lady in HR who gave me possible interview dates. However, during the course of the call, it was revealed that I was listed in the system as a candidate for the position of "Firmware Developer - Intern". However, I was assured that this was just a formality and that the interview was still for the position I had applied for. The interview was conducted by two employees, one was the head of the department where I would be employed and the other was the person who would be responsible for my work and my management. Right off the bat I found out that they were not looking for anyone for the position I applied for. They asked me if I would still be interested in trying to interview for the "Firmware Developer - Intern" position. I accepted despite my lack of electrical engineering knowledge. The interview was conducted in a friendly manner and you could sense from both interviewers that they were nice people and valued effort above all. I had a good feeling about the whole interview. At the end of the interview I was assured that I would receive the final decision by email by the end of the month regardless of the result. The trouble came at the end of the month when no email arrived. I had to write to HR asking how my interview went. I wrote about two weeks after the end of the month. I heard back from the HR person who wrote to say that he hadn't managed to round up everyone who hadn't been selected, but that unfortunately I hadn't been selected based on my knowledge of the industry. I respected that, overall the interviewers were nice people and I rate the interview positively. On the other hand the attitude from HR was terrible, I waited almost a month before anyone got back to me about a job application and then I waited almost a month and had to write myself for the interview result. I'm not even talking about the confusion of two positions and the overall confusion.
