J'ai postulé en ligne. Le processus a pris 1 semaine. J'ai passé un entretien chez The RealReal (San Francisco, CA) en mai 2016

      Entretien

Applied online without cover letter. Contacted by recruiter and set up interview. Email sent on day of interview a few hours before for a rescheduling which is usually not a good sign. Spoke on phone, talked about position, overall career goals, placement for other positions etc. They categorize this position under operations, so they're trying to make it sound fancy. There is a quota, you will be working in a warehouse with a team of about 10 with the future growth of 30-40 people. Was told that they were going to be moving to a new location this summer so they were building the team for the big upgrade. The main problem with the interview was getting clear answers from the recruiter, and with the majority of recruiters, not understanding what creatives can really do. Some muddled answers given: - Promotion: People in this position would stay for a year or something like that and then promoted to management positions. Got huffy when asked if they're constantly replacing people for this position. - Culture: Talked about having photography in same warehouse and being a collaborative environment but never went into detail about why RealReal is great. Also, there was a lot of background noise (people talking) during the call, which was annoying. - Benefits & Shift: Couldn't list/give detailed benefits when asked. Said the shift would be standard from M-F 8:30am - 6pm them mumbled off. Asked how soon they wanted to fill the position and said whenever they find the right candidate. Was then asked if applying to other places and told to let the recruiter know when I was interested and ended interview. Overall impression: I wasn't satisfied with the answers given to me. The recruiter seemed too busy to actually listen and danced around the culture of the company and the details of the actual position. I believe that she was trying to be fair by getting a feel for what I was looking for. This position definitely has a high turnover rate yet they don't seem to want to admit it and try to gussy it up by saying people stay there for a year...or so. If the HR department can't give solid, honest answers then expect this from management as well.
