I WOULD STRONGLY RECOMMEND AGAINST THIS COMPANY. The employer got really offended when I asked about the hours and salary before the interview. She then forgot the interview altogether, screamed and berated the receptionists (I was actually mortified for them) in front of me for not ushering me in right after the former interviewee, and then was really rude throughout the whole interview as if it were my fault she handled her schedule poorly. She just had this terrible tone and attitude throughout. She was really angry about the salary and hours question (even though literally no other employers for other jobs were) and kept comparing me to a product she had to see before purchasing. She then told me to give a projector-type presentation by ...wordlessly nodding to the front of the class. Then, she got angry when I didn't have a USB cable for the projector or print-outs and scolded me for being unprepared. I couldn't make it up on the spot because I didn't have a story/passage (she refused to google what I asked for) and she also NEVER TOLD ME TO PREPARE ANYTHING. She didn't communicate at all before the interview so I didn't know that she thought it was cancelled/ignored my basic work questions/didn't tell me anything about what I should bring. This is not standard at all. She demanded I go to the reception and print something out, so I went outside, watched the receptionists looking terrified (presumably from the former yelling) and fumbling with the printer because they couldn't connect it to my computer. I thought about it for a few seconds, then just straight-up walked out of the interview without alerting the employer. I told one of the receptionist that basically the woman was treating me terribly for things that are her own fault and that I was leaving. This is the first (and I imagine only) time I have ever done this. I am still kind of dumbfounded. A few other academies I applied to also requested demos, but they always told me beforehand. I've applied to and been accepted by many prestigious academies (they all pay similarly). All the ones that didn't specifically ask for a demo did NOT make me present a demo. What was I supposed to do, read her mind and buy a SAT book and cable specific to her machine with my own money and create a huge presentation (that she didn't ask for) for a job that she wouldn't even tell me the hours and salary for? I cannot imagine what it would be like to work for this person and I truly feel sorry for the receptionists and everyone else this woman has any sort of power over. The reviews and work conditions also seem terrible from my personal googling. You should do your own research and see for yourself.

Pretty straightforward for a tutor. It was a classic "teach us something," then go into their curriculum and see if you can engage with the students while effectively teaching the material.

After the initial hiring interview, be prepared to spend months in "training" where you may be approved or dismissed at any time. The training is paid, but just don't count on it as a stable job until after that period.
