Met with a recruiter for the first round of interviews and she shared that she would stay in contact with me as the process moved forward. Unfortunately that was not the case. I had to reach out to her twice requesting an update and sharing my continued interest. Both times she shared she had to update but to continue reaching out if I don’t hear anything back. After that I knew I wasn’t moving on the final round and heard nothing back until a month and a half later when I received the general HR email that says they went with another candidate. This was the most my best interview experience so far with Ohio State (which isn’t saying much), the other times my application was rejected within a few days but no communication or general HR email was sent out. The only way I knew was because I logged back unit their system to apply for another job. I did move forward with that interview and made it to the final round. They told me in that round that a decision would be made at the end of the week and someone from HR would call me no matter what to inform me of their final decision. I knew that wasn’t true and of course no phone call or email was ever received. Higher Ed isn’t always the best with their interview communications but it is certainly getting worse. Don’t expect much if any communication back when applying to Ohio State.
