My process started great, meeting the two co-founders and going though the rounds of interviews. The questions were common interview questions, getting to know you and if you are a fit for the school and team culture/pace. I was offered the position in August and a week before I was to start the offer was rescinded due to low enrollment and needing to allocate the funding to what I assumed was a video platform. They did not involve me in salary discussion, so I circled back and negotiated and communication took a very long time. I like the school and what it is doing for education; however, my experience was very unfortunate and impacted me in multiple areas of work/life.

Interview was set-up virtually with time to prepare for the process (2021). I was interviewed by the school founders in two separate interviews. The interview itself was enjoyable, there are a variety of questions asked such as; how would you teach social justice? Tell us about yourself? What has your experience been counseling in this area? What is your understanding of restorative justice? What experience do you have in-crisis situations? What interventions do you use with this population? ETC. I believe they do the bulk of the interviews (for all positions in the school) to screen who will be a good fit for the culture of the school which in turn means low communication on where you stand in the interview process or if they have not chosen to move forward with you. They are open about questions you may have regarding the role and making sure you might be a good fit for the school.
