J'ai passé un entretien chez Texas Tech University en oct. 2025
Entretien
There was only one interview round (1hr) with Technical and Behavioral questions.
If you are a candidate who is not a Texas Tech Alumni don't even apply. Utter waste of time. They give a lot of preference for Alumni over external candidates.
I gave my interview which went perfect and even after 3 weeks after the interview they don't bother to update me with a decision, Timeline or an update.
After Multiple follow-ups and calls, I was just told the position was filled.

The interview process usually has one interview where they ask about your experience and it’s basically just behavioral. The process is very long even of it’s just one interview, be prepared to wait for a month or more.

The interview process involves a Tex/as Tech University department manager to call you or email you to setup a time to interview. This isn't always easy because they have limited time for them to get a their staff to be able to meet. They usually have between five and ten people and includes the manager's manager, the manager him/herself, two or three people that work in the department that would be involved with your position, one or two people from the user community, and possibly 1 or two graduate students. They ask you about yourself, tell you about the job and then ask questions to check your knowledge. Some technical programming or database departments have a fairly difficult programming assignment that sometimes is done right there in the interview. That is stressful, but the people are very nice about it. Sometimes, there is a take home assignment. These are even more difficult, but they give you a week to return the results.

Question 1
One of the questions that i got was to solve a moderately difficult recursive function in Javascript. I was to find the error in it and tell them what it was supposed to do. That was done at the interview table and they gave me all the time I needed, but they sat there and watched me solve it and waited until I finished.
