      Candidature

J'ai postulé via un établissement d'enseignement supérieur ou universitaire. Le processus a pris 4 semaines. J'ai passé un entretien chez Texas Instruments (Dallas, TX) en sept. 2017

      Entretien

The interview process consisted of 3 rounds of interviews. The first round was conducted a day after a career fair at my school. This round was straightforward, I was asked mostly behavioral questions related to past projects from school/internships. There were also two simple technical questions: identify a passive low-pass filter and explain why as well as identify different circuit types in an overall circuit. About a week later, I was invited to participate in an online interview, which I scheduled for the next week. I was to prepare a 10-15 minute technical presentation over a project I was a part of to present to another interviewer. After the presentation, I was asked several followup behavioral questions regarding my project, such as identifying challenges and how I overcame them. The interviewer then asked me specific questions about my resume. The next day I was informed I made it to the third and final round! The interview was conducted in Dallas, TX and they provided airfare, hotel room, rental car, three meals and a gift card for any other expenses incurred. There were 9 other candidates that were present and we were interviewed twice individually in groups of 4; both rounds had two interviewers. The first 3rd round interview was mainly questions about my resume and some more behavioral questions, pretty standard interview questions. I was also asked about my senior design project, my role and responsibilities, our progress and any challenges. If you are taught any project management skills, be sure to bring them up here! The second and final overall interview was a highly technical interview. Both digital and analog questions were asked as well as semiconductor physics. Be prepared to answer a lot of "Why?" questions here. The final problem was a testing diagram where I was asked to explain what the device was and how the device was being tested based on input and output signals. My degree teaches test engineering, so I was able to answer this problem reasonably well, however, most of the other interviewees had never been introduced to test, so do not worry if you do not completely understand this part. They are mostly looking that you can learn new things and how you receive instruction. They told us we would hear back in about 2 weeks on the final decision, however, I heard back two days later that I got the job! The only negative experience I had with this process was it took 5 weeks for me to get the official offer letter, which I thought was pretty ridiculous. Definitely follow up with your recruiter on the status of your offer.

5 behavioral questions and then a few technical questions regarding basic IC's and design elements. Very conversational and friendly (entirely virtual). Focus on doing technical problems on a virtual whiteboard and talking through the process.

Sit down in person interview. Asked about my resume, common behavioral stuff. Then I was asked two questions, one to do with finding Vout given a negative feedback op-amp, and the other was to find the prime numbers in an undefined sized array.

Two rounds of interviews each about an hour long. First interview was mostly behavior questions, with the last 10 minutes dedicated to technical questions. Technical questions were about topics discussed in a basic circuits class. Second interview consisted of a preparing a project presentation and then asked questions about it as well as general resume questions.
