I applied online through the mall's website. I got a call the next day and set up an interview 3 days later. The interview was very relaxed. The Assistant Manager made me a cup of tea and we went to a spot with some chairs and tables in the mall for the interview. We sat and he asked me some simple questions about retail. I didn't know anything about up-selling though, so I asked if he could explain it to me so that I could answer the question to the best of my ability. He also had me do a little presentation on the cup of tea I chose to drink. What does it taste like? Smell like? What time of day/year could you drink this tea?

The employee i met with initially was incredibly unhelpful with instructing me to the manager as i handed in my resume. Was told to meet with manager at a different location. Pretty cold, straightforward. All questions related to sales, sales experience, sales sales sales. If you've never had previous retail experience this will be difficult. Was told straight up that if I wasn't meeting sales goals I would be let go. That I would only get hours if I sold well.

Very informal interview where I was simply asked a series of questions. Finally, I was asked to pretend that I was a Sales Associate who needed to convince them to buy it by talking about why it was a perfect fit for their home, why they had to buy it right now instead of coming back and why I believe in the product that I was trying to sell to them.

The store was not ready yet, so at the time, the interviews were held across the street at a Starbucks. I met with two supervisors. They were very kind and sweet.
